Sanford Electric Company is a third generation business that began operating 84 years ago when Ellsworth C. Harper, Sr. opened the doors on Magnolia Avenue in downtown Sanford, Florida. The business operated under the name Sanford Electrical Contracting Company and sold household appliances as well as providing electrical contracting repairs and services to the residents of Sanford.
The company continued to grow and in 1969 the company was relocated to its current larger location on Park Drive in Sanford. During this time the company continued to sell appliances but the focus began to shift toward large scale residential and commercial electrical contracting. The original corporation, founded in 1958, continued to function first under the direction of Mr. Harper's son, E.C., and then his granddaughter, Lori, until 2010.
Sanford Electric Company no longer sells appliances but they have become a respected company for providing quality electrical contracting services at a reasonable price to the entire Central Florida area. The entire staff is committed to providing the superior customer service and technical expertise that has made Sanford Electric Company a viable company in the marketplace since 1925. This commitment can be seen in the stability of the staff. Collectively they represent over 65 years of loyal service to a true "family" business.
Today Sanford Electric Company II, Inc. is owned and operated by Certified Electrical Contractor Jim DePoy. He began his employment with Sanford Electric in 1982 as an electrician. Jim worked his way up through the ranks, earned a Certified Electrical Contractor License and has been the license holder for Sanford Electric Company for many years.
Lisa Sullivan manages the day to day operations for Sanford Electric Company II, Inc. She is a University of Florida graduate and Business Manager that brings over 28 years of experience in accounting, customer relations, and, business management to the Sanford Electric team.
